Custom: contact MTIS for a tailored quotation. The investigation allowance and file limits are agreed case by case in the quotation.
Excluded on every tier: macro-enabled Office files (.docm, .xlsm and similar), rich-text files (.rtf), Outlook message files (.msg), archives, executables, scripts and video. Outlook users should use Save as → .eml rather than dragging a message straight in. Every upload is checked against the file’s actual content signature as well as its extension, and a file whose contents do not match its stated type is rejected.
What the AI actually reads. Evidence comes from the text in your documents: PDF on every tier, and plain-text, Markdown, CSV, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email files where your tier accepts them. Photographs are read by a separate image step that records short, hedged descriptions of what is visible — features on a fracture surface, visible corrosion product, the condition of a component. That step is deliberately narrow: it is not permitted to name a failure mode or a cause, it cannot state an absolute size unless a ruler, scale bar or stated magnification appears in the picture, and it ignores photographs of documents, reports and screens. Voice recordings are transcribed by a speech-to-text service, and the resulting words are read like any other document — check the transcript, because speech recognition mishears technical vocabulary. There is no optical character recognition, so a report that exists only as a scan adds nothing to the assessment. Everything the app drafts is data until you validate it. On Standard and Expert each extracted item is held for your review and becomes evidence only once you approve it; Basic has no review step, so drafted text is used directly, up to a fixed cap, and observations read from photographs are excluded from the assessment. An image or recording that cannot be read contributes nothing. Write down anything you need the app to take into account.
Every app-generated report and final-results screen states: “AI-generated — not professionally reviewed by MTIS.”

Subscription, licensing and renewal

  • Unused investigation, upload and AI allowances expire and do not roll over.
  • Standard and Expert subscriptions are personal to one named user. Password and account sharing are prohibited.
  • Companies may purchase multiple named-user subscriptions under one organisation account. Broader shared-access arrangements are handled case by case through direct contact with MTIS.
  • Standard and Expert subscription fees are non-refundable after activation unless MTIS agrees otherwise. This does not affect statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  • Subscriptions do not renew automatically. Renewal takes effect only after a new payment is confirmed by MTIS.
  • Standard and Expert renewal reminders are sent 30 days and 7 days before expiry.

Fair-use boundary

All plans are restricted to genuine, current failure investigations. Fictitious cases, research-paper examples, bulk company-history uploads, and deliberate API-token or clarification-round consumption are prohibited. Users are warned at 80% of allowance; AI access is paused at 100% or on an abuse trigger, pending review.
