Terms & Conditions

The commercial terms on which MTIS undertakes work.

Current commercial terms. These terms apply to MTIS operations unless a quotation states otherwise.

1. Service types

Failure investigation. MTIS examines the available evidence of a failure, performs limited essential tests to collect evidence, and analyses the evidence to understand the failure mode.

Failure analysis. A more limited review, often desk-based, with no significant extra testing unless agreed.

Forensic investigation. Work intended for legal proceedings, where evidence preservation, documentation and reproducibility take priority.

2. Payment

Payment is due within 30 days of invoice. MTIS does not accept back-to-back payment arrangements unless the quotation explicitly states otherwise. Full payment remains applicable even where the expected cause or result is not identified.

3. Samples and data

Standard delivery of samples to MTIS facilities is at the client’s expense. Samples are generally not returned unless the quotation states otherwise. MTIS may retain samples and project data for six months after project completion, after which they may be disposed of.

4. Results and limitations

Failure investigation and related services do not guarantee a desired result. Characterisation and testing methods have limited accuracy and sensitivity, and sample preparation and the area examined can affect results. MTIS is a professional team, but sample quality, preparation and inspection limits can mean that trace evidence is not found.

5. Use of findings

MTIS reports and findings must be used only for the intended purpose stated for the engagement unless the quotation or agreed terms state otherwise.

6. Who we are

This website is operated by MTIS Sdn. Bhd., No. 2, Jalan TPP 5/17, Taman Perindustrian Puchong, Seksyen 5, 47160 Puchong, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia ("MTIS", "we", "us") — a materials engineering consultancy.

7. Use of this website

You may browse this website and use its content for your own information. Content on this website is general technical and commercial information about MTIS and materials engineering topics. It does not constitute engineering advice for any specific situation, and you should not act on it as a substitute for case-specific professional engagement.

8. Enquiries do not create an engagement

Submitting an enquiry or job request through this website does not create a contract or professional engagement. MTIS work proceeds only under a written scope and terms agreed for each project. Until such terms are agreed, MTIS has no obligation in respect of information you send, other than the confidentiality practice described in our Privacy Notice.

9. Intellectual property

The content of this website — text, images, graphics and the MTIS name and logo — belongs to MTIS or is used with permission. You may not reproduce it commercially without our written consent. Technical images remain subject to their recorded source and clearance conditions.

10. Accuracy and liability

We work to keep this website accurate, but we make no warranty that its general content fits your circumstances. To the extent permitted by law, MTIS accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on website content as opposed to contracted professional advice. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Links

External links are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for external content.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia unless MTIS states otherwise in writing.

13. Changes

We may update these terms; the date below records the current version.

Last updated 11 July 2026. Project-specific quotation terms take precedence where they differ.
