Expert Review

An independent technical review of an investigation, a report or a set of laboratory results — by engineers who run investigations themselves.

What Expert Review is

Expert Review is an independent technical opinion on work that has already been done. MTIS examines an investigation report, a set of test results or a laboratory work package, and states plainly whether the evidence supports the conclusion drawn from it.

It is used where a decision, a supplier position or an internal disagreement rests on a technical finding, and where a second qualified view materially changes the confidence you can place in it.

What the review covers

What you receive

A written review setting out what the original work established, what it did not, and where MTIS agrees or differs — with the reasoning shown, so the conclusion can be examined rather than taken on trust. Where MTIS disagrees, the review states what evidence would settle the point.

Scope and limits

A review is bounded by the material supplied. Where evidence has been discarded, components cleaned, or testing carried out in a way that cannot be repeated, the review says so rather than speculating. MTIS will state when the available material cannot support any firm conclusion — that is itself a finding worth having.

Expert Review is separate from the Failure Investigator application and from the professional review of Failure Investigator output. It is a consultancy engagement, quoted per case.

Where a review concludes that the underlying question remains open, it often leads into a failure investigation or a targeted characterisation and testing programme.
